Medical Director


Supervisor: OCFS Programs Director Job Summary:
The function of the Medical Director is to: oversee the medical department at Timothy Hill;
ensure that all necessary medical and behavioral health services are provided to foster the health of the residents; ensure that applications for all medical related program are properly submitted; ensure that all governing medical policies and procedures are followed; and to provide oversight and supervision within his or her scope of practice to Nursing and Licensed Behavior Health Practitioner (LBHSP) staff. Duties and Responsibilities: Pursuant to the 29-I Medicaid Managed Care program, Clinical Consultation / Program Supervision services may include:
• Reviewing all health care information and medical records;
• Working with the direct treatment providers to establish treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and current available information;
• Prescription and non-prescription medication consultation according to the scope of practice of the practitioner;
• Medical eligibility recommendations for foster care rates pertaining to health care conditions;
• Advising the local department of social services commissioners and the VFCA executive directors regarding the medical needs of the children in their care and/or care and custody;
• Reviewing and approving required medical and behavioral health forms;
• Meeting and communicating with biological families, guardians, foster families and caseworkers;
• Clinical supervision of medical and behavioral health staff according to the scope of practice of the practitioner in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations to include NYSED requirements where applicable;
• Quality oversight and improvement services;
• Emergency medical and behavioral health consultation services; and

Social Worker

Administrative Social Worker

Job Summary:

The function of a Licensed Social Worker (Skill Building Staff) is to manage and provide

mental health and skill-building counseling and support to residents at Timothy hill and their families.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Pursuant to the 29-I Medicaid Managed Care program, counseling and intervention services shall include:

  • Establishing treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and current available information in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Assisting children and youth to develop skills as defined in treatment goals;
  • Providing psychiatric supports and therapy;
  • Providing individual counseling and treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed counseling and treatment, family and group counseling, and transition counseling;
  • Promoting integration with community resources and skill-building;
  • Providing psycho-education and wellness education;
  • Communicating with family, case planning staff and medical practitioners;
  • Utilizing interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic methodology; and
  • Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior.

The Licensed Social Worker services shall also, and more specifically, include the following:

  • Read, understand and support the Timothy Hill Mission and Vision Statements;
  • Counsels youth regarding their reason for being at Timothy Hill and as problems develop, whatever their needs may be;
  • Complete psychosocial examination within 30 days of resident placement;
  • Develop goals and treatment plan for new residents with team;
  • Handle routine discharge of children in accordance with established procedure;
  • Serve as an advocate for child in all matters, not as a disciplinarian;
  • Handle contact with parent / managing conservator;
  • Conduct family counseling sessions as part of the plan of service to youth and families;
  • Maintain records of counseling and log of significant happenings;
  • Prepare daily notes of caseload for files;
  • Perform 30 day, 90 day and 6 month UCR (Uniform Case Review);
  • Conduct home assessments;
  • Arrange for trips and transportation for children to Nassau or Suffolk County Justice and Family Courts, Committee on Special Education Hearings, Stony Brook University Hospital, psychiatric / psychological appointments, home visits for weekend trips and holidays;
  • Attend team and staff meetings and carry out decisions of these meetings;
  • Enforce campus rules and regulations as established;
  • Meet with child Protection Services, Department of Social Services, Probation and Juvenile Aid Bureau and teachers for called meetings;
  • Schedule home visits with follow up calls to parents;
  • Network with other agencies;
  • Must be on call as assigned;
  • Attend workshops and seminars that would aid in improving skills as they relate to overall welfare of childcare; and
  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by the Administrative Social Worker.

This position will be responsible for assisting in devising and implementing the development strategy for TH. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Director will be instrumental in achieving fundraising goals. Travel, Events and Networking in multi-states.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement annual development plan and strategy

  • Assist the overall development efforts to raise an annual budget of $2.75 million

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate & foundation sponsors, and individual donors.

  • Write grant proposals and reports to corporate, foundation, and government agencies.

  • Assist in the development and growth of Timothy Hill’s donor base.

  • Organize all existing and new fundraising events in several states. (Black Tie & Boots, Iron Man)

  • Oversee all Public Relations and volunteer coordination.

  • Work closely with the Executive team, Executive Director and Business Development Executive strategic plan.

  • Act as a Liaison to Board of Directors when necessary for Fundraising/ Marketing purposes.

This position is the first point of contact by greeting guests, answering phones, handling inbound inquiries. The Advancement Coordinator/Receptionist will provide assistance with various tasks to support the advancement (Fundraising) and administration team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls and directs calls to appropriate person or voice mail and/or takes detailed messages.
